Frequently asked questions
What kinds of items do you accept?
We accept mid-to-high end women’s clothing, accessories, shoes, handbags, and stylish home décor. Items must be clean, in very good or better condition, and suitable for our boutique clientele. All items must have size, care, and brand tags attached.
• Brands: Abercrombie, AllSaints, ALO, Anthropologie, Aritzia, Athleta, Banana Republic, Chanel, Chico's, Christian Louboutin, Coach, Free People, Gucci, Hollister, Jimmy Choo, Kate Spade, Louis Vuitton, Lululemon, Manolo Blahnik, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Rolex, Ted Baker, Tory Burch, Urban Outfitters, White House Black Market, and anything Vintage and FABULOUS!
• Condition: Items must be clean and in showroom-ready condition—no stains, damage, or excessive wear. Items must be hung or folded in laundry baskets or totes.
What kinds of items don't you accept?
To maintain our boutique standard, we generally do not accept:
• Fast fashion or mass-market brands (e.g., Shein, Target, Walmart labels).
• Outdated styles, damaged items, or excessive wear.
• Absolutely anything in garbage or grocery bags.
How long will my items be on consignment?
The standard consignment period is 60 days, beginning when your item is made available for sale (not necessarily the day you drop it off). We may hold items until the appropriate season, and in some cases, extend the period for high-end or rare pieces.
How do I know when my items are on the sales floor?
While we may not notify you individually, you’ll be able to track your items through our online Consignor Portal. In the meantime, feel free to reach out—we’re happy to provide updates upon request.
What happens if my item doesn’t sell?
Items under $50 will be donated at the end of the consignment period. Items priced at $50 or more can be returned to you if you request them at least 7 days before the end of the period. Otherwise, they’ll be donated.
How do I get paid?
You’ll receive 50% of the net proceeds from each sale (final sale price, excluding tax and after any discounts). Payments are issued monthly by check or direct deposit. If your balance is under $10, payment may be held until your earnings exceed $10.
Is there a fee if I choose to be paid by check?
Yes. A $1.50 processing fee is deducted from each check payment transaction. If you elect to receive payment by direct deposit, we cover the fee for you!
Is my banking information secure?
Yes. If you choose direct deposit, you’ll enter your bank details through a secure third-party payment system. Reclaimed Threads does not collect, store, or have access to your banking information.
What happens if there’s a data breach?
Because your payment information is handled by a secure third-party provider, any breach would fall under their security protocols and protections—not ours. We carefully select reputable vendors who meet industry standards for data protection.
If we are ever notified of a breach, we will inform affected consignors promptly and provide guidance on next steps.
Can I track my items online?
Yes! We have a Consignor Portal where you’ll be able to view your active items, track sales, and monitor your consignment period. We’ll provide login details and instructions.
What if I change my mind or want to end the agreement?
You can terminate the agreement at any time with written notice. If you have items originally priced at $50 or more, you’ll have 7 days to pick them up. Otherwise, they’ll be considered abandoned and donated.
